Faith to Pray Bold Prayers

I remember the day when my middle son was an infant at the time suddenly became ill. It appeared that he was having difficulty breathing after a feeding. I studied him and knew something was wrong. I screamed for my husband. We decided to gather our belongings to take the short drive to the hospital. The ride was fairly silently, but inside I was beckoning for God to heal our son and I know that my husband was, too. My heart was so heavy that I was unable to gather the words to pray aloud. I knew the minute I opened my mouth that only a deep wail would escape. However, I knew enough to call on the name of the Lord. I knew that I had full access to his throne room to go directly before him.

Hebrews 4:16 says, Let us, therefore, come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. The Lord has granted us undeniable access to lay our burdens at His feet. Aren’t you glad that God grants us this access? Where would we be without it? God is omnipresent and therefore can be everywhere at the same time. His divine presence encompasses the whole of the universe. There is no location where he does not inhabit. With that understanding, he can go wherever you need him to go to meet your needs.

God is also omnipotent. He is the all-powerful God. There are no limits to what He can do for us. When we are facing great trials and tribulations, we must comprehend in prayer that He is all-powerful. Unlike man, God is not subject to any limitations. He has all power in his hands. We can fully trust that God can handle whatever comes his way. We don’t have to be fearful or ashamed.

We must go before the Lord boldly. We must not be shy about our needs, especially in a time of trouble. Before we arrived at the hospital with our son, I had already prayed for the doctor who would receive him. I had already prayed and confessed that we were believing the report of the Lord. I knew that I was praying to the Master Physician. My faith grabbed hold of his word and his word was settled in my heart.

What prayers are you keeping silent? Did you know that is a strategy of the enemy? He wants to keep you quiet about what’s really bothering you. He wants you to become bitter and depressed about your circumstances. He knows that once you begin to pray, he has no power over you. You may have to go into a private space in your house and lay everything before him. Be bold and reveal all of your issues. Lay them at his feet. Do not remain silent and think that things will somehow go away and get better. Open your mouth and talk to God. Tell him about your troubles. He’s more than able to handle each concern. Remember, he is an all-present and all-powerful God.

There is no one that understands our raw emotions and painful experiences other than God. The suffering that He experienced on the cross does not compare to anything that we have or will ever experience. He understands our pain and our suffering. Allow his Holy Spirit to minister to you. All His grace to cover you. Let him inside and show him where you gave up. Take him to the place where you stopped believing. He has the power to resurrect your faith and perform miracles. Don’t give up. I pray that your faith will be strengthened to pray bold prayers.

    1. Amen! Exactly! He knows all, but He wants for us to come to him and reveal to him the areas that we need him. He desires intimacy. All we have to do is open up and give him what He desires.
