A Season of Sight!

Tonight a friend was leading Intercessory Prayer on Facebook live. I joined halfway through the prayer. As she prayed, God confirmed some things that I heard in the spirit earlier in the day. Don’t you love when God confirmed his word? I mean, God’s timing is so perfect!

As she prayed, I heard the Lord say that He was going to perform cataract surgery. Cataract surgery is when the lens of one’s eye is removed and replaced with an artificial lens. Cataracts can cause your vision to be cloudy and distorted. When left untreated, this condition can affect your vision.

Years ago, I remember when my mother’s vision was going bad. I didn’t realize how bad it was until one day we were shopping at the mall. She began to walk towards a mannequin, because she thought it was a sales associate. I didn’t know how cloudy her vision was. She was unable to see clearly. She ended up having cataract surgery. Thankfully, the Lord healed her, and her vision has been restored.

Tonight, during prayer, I saw scales being removed from people’s eyes. I saw people being healed. Do you remember when this happened to Saul in Acts 9 when he was on the road to Damascus? The Bible tells us that light from heaven flashed around him, and he fell to the ground. The Lord spoke to Him about his persecution and told him to go into the city. When Saul tried to open his eyes, he couldn’t. Saul arrived in the city, and a disciple by the name of Ananias placed his hands on him. God restored Saul’s sight. The Bible said that in an instant scales fell from his eyes, and his sight was restored (vs. 18). Saul couldn’t see that what he was doing to God’s people was persecuting God. When God used Ananias to touch his eyes, the Lord changed his whole outlook on his life. He started preaching the gospel all because he had seen the Lord!

God wants to do the same thing for you. What is clouding your vision? What is in the way of you seeing clearly? The Bible tells us that without vision, you will perish. I believe that for this next season, God needs us to see things. We cannot walk around with cloudy eyesight. We need to see and follow after God. We need to ask God to remove the scales from our eyes and correct our vision. Whatever you are unclear about, ask God to give you insight and eyesight.

The danger in walking around with cloudy eyesight is that you may find yourself believing something that is not real. Just like my mother thought the mannequin was a real person, you could be in a situation where what you think is a reality, is not. Or you could be like Saul before his transformation. He didn’t realize that he was persecuting God. What’s interesting is that he was spiritually blind before the Lord caused blindness to come upon him. The enemy plans to deceive you. He wants to keep you spiritually blind. He desires to keep the truth hidden from you any way he can so that you can’t see what God has in store for you.

Like Saul, who later becomes Paul, God has a plan for our lives that requires us to see clearly. We all have work to do for the Kingdom of God. Many people are lost and wandering. They do not know where they are going or what to believe. Their vision is being affected. We have to rise and lead others to Christ that may not be able to see for themselves. You can’t have the blind leading the blind. We have to have the vision of Christ to do the work of Christ. I challenge you to pray and ask God to remove the cloudy lens from your eyes and restore your vision.

I leave you with this scripture found in Mark 11:24 – Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Go inward in prayer and believe that God will restore your sight. He will heal you.
