Heavenly Prayer Language

Written by Guest Blogger: Christina Bibb

During this year 2020 I have felt like my prayer list is at an all-time high. I have been praying for family situations, the government, essential workers, missions, pastors and leaders just to name a few.  And all of them, I have prayed with a such a since of urgency.

Sometimes after I have prayed a while, I have went about my day and realized I have totally missed that person or that particular situation in prayer.  Has that ever happened to you?

Recently, I was talking to someone and I was saying that I was struggling with somethings that were going on within our government. I discovered that many people were feeling the same way.  I found that after talking to several people, they confessed that they were not praying for our president.

I pondered on my response and replied that I whenever I found myself not having the words or not know what exactly to pray or even how long to pray about a situation, I pray in my heavenly prayer language. Praying in tongues allows you to speak directly to God, 1 Corn 14:2.

Praying in your heavenly language also allows you to pray God’s perfect will. Although you can’t always interpret what is being said, God knows what you are saying.

Praying in your heavenly language is a gift from God. God fills you with his spirit and gives you the ability to speak in tongues, Acts 2:4. When we do this, we are empowered and strengthen.

I was in another conversation with someone else and we were talking about our mandate to pray for things that demanded our immediate attention. We both sighed and then the thought came to mind “How much ground do you cover when we pray in the spirit?” I mean think about it. When you pray in the spirit, you are praying the perfect will. None of the words you are praying are wasted. You can be praying for those you would not normally pray about, for situations to come, for dignitaries or those in foreign lands. It will not be wasted, you will be praying according to the word of God. You can’t lose and you will feel like the weight has been lifted because we casted our burdens on Him.

I want to encourage you to seek God and ask him to fill you with this beautiful gift. He will hear your prayer. He will fill you. Just have faith and believe God. If you have a prayer language, but haven’t used it lately, try again. Seek the Lord and believe. Praying in your heavenly language (tongues) covers more ground than you would ever know. Be blessed. try praying in the spirit.
