Victory

Have you ever woke up singing a song and wondered why? This happened to me. I recently woke up hearing a song in my spirit by Todd Dulaney called “Victory Belongs to Jesus.” The lyrics and melody stayed with me for most of the morning. I must have played the song at least three times.  I started to meditate on the words and it truly blessed me. It was one of those moments where you know you have heard the song many times before, but this time something was different. The words resonated with me especially in this season.

I had been praying about a private matter during my prayer time. Something happened that caused me to feel that things were not going to get better. I felt myself going down the road of defeat, but the Holy Spirit so gently reminded me of the truth.

Song Lyrics

Who will stand against the Lord?
No one can
No one will

Who will stand against the king?
No one can
No one will

Oh oh oh
Oh oh oh
Victory belongs to Jesus
Victory belongs to Him
Oh oh oh
Oh oh oh

Victory belongs to Jesus
Victory belongs to Him

I said, who can stand (who can stand against the Lord?)
No one (no one can)
No one (no one will)
Yes, who can stand (who can stand against the king?)
Nobody can (no one can)
No one will (no one will)

Oh oh oh
Oh oh oh
Victory belongs to Jesus (victory belongs to Jesus)
Victory belongs to Him
Oh oh oh (oh oh oh)
Oh oh oh

Victory belongs (victory belongs to Jesus)
Victory belongs to Him

Yeah yeah
Oh oh oh
Oh oh oh
Say the victory belongs to Jesus (victory belongs to Jesus)
(Yes it does!) Victory belongs to Him

What is so powerful about the song is that it reaffirms that no one can or will ever be able to do what Jesus can do. He is the King of all kings and all power belongs to him. Therefore, victory belongs to Him. I was stopped in my tracks. I wasn’t just singing the song because it was on my mind, there was a purpose behind it.

Your situation may look like a mountain in front of you, but it’s not bigger than the God we serve. Don’t look at what you see. Change your lens. When you put your eyes on the Lord, he will see you through. He is your deliverer. He is the only one that can bring you to victory.

Romans 8:28 says “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, and to them who are called according to his purpose.”

No matter what you are facing during this season, God will use it for your good and for his glory. You will come out victorious. You have victory over your health. You have victory over your finances. You have victory over your mind. You have victory over your emotions. Because Christ died on the cross and rose with all power in his hands, he won the fight for us. We are seated with Him in heavenly places so we too have the victory. We don’t have to do anything because Christ did it for us!

You may be feeling defeated about something you’ve been praying for. I encourage you to take your eyes off your situation and place your eyes on Him. Christ has won the victory. Just believe what has been spoken over you even if you have to read the same scripture over yourself every day until your situation changes. Don’t stop believing.

  1. That really blessed me this morning! Thanks for allowing the Holy Spirit to remind us that we have the victory through Christ! Nothing that I could do in my own strength but seated in heavenly places (Resting) in Him is my place of victory! Thanks Sis!
