Are You Blocked?

forgiveness

Some time ago, I had a dream about the heart. In the dream I saw that there was a blockage which prevented the heart to fully function at full capacity. When I woke up, the Lord revealed that the purpose of that dream was about forgiveness. When we choose not to forgive others, we block ourselves from being able to receive from the Lord. Mark 11:26 says, “But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.”

In the natural, blockages occur when blood is restricted to flow through to your heart.  This is typically as a result of plaque built up in our coronary arteries. When blood cannot flow properly to the heart, the heart becomes starved of oxygen and vital nutrients. Likewise in the spirit, when we do not forgive others, we block ourselves from receiving because the Bible says that our father in Heaven will not forgive our trespasses. Having a spiritual blockage such as unforgiveness limits our ability to live freely. Instead of living our life, we spend time being angry and bitter because of what someone did to us. Our prayers are stifled and our worship is dry. We become so consumed with the circumstance that our eyes become focused on that person or the issue instead of allowing God to come in and restore us. Eventually, we lose sight of the Lord.

Not only do we block ourselves from the Lord, but we block others from seeing Christ and the hope of glory. Our lives become dull. We become full of resentment and we start magnifying the issues instead of trusting God to truly heal our hearts from the deep wounds of despair. Forgiving others is not always an easy task because we are human and we experience hurt and betrayal. But it is necessary according to God’s word. Are we so angry and bitter that we would risk receiving from the Lord? Matthew 18:21-22 says, “Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.”

Are you blocked or are you living freely hearing and receiving from the Lord. Do you have any unfinished business to take care of? Does something or someone still have power over you that caused you to get angry or depressed? If so, I challenge you to ask God to search your heart. Psalms 139:23 says “Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts.” God will reveal it to you if you ask him. When it is revealed, go inward and ask God to give you the strength to forgive and choose to live your life being free.
