In my quiet time with the Lord, I have been asking Him to use me. I want my day to have purpose. I don’t want to fall within the same routine everyday and not be used by Him. I don’t want to miss any opportunities where I am not a witness for Him. Within one week, my prayer was answered.
One day I was sitting in a meeting with other school administrators and a parent knocked at our door. When she walked in, we could see that she was upset. She was extremely distressed because she was unable to fulfill an obligation because she wasn’t feeling well. She’s battling an illness and on that particular day, she had no strength and was in immense pain. The team assured her that it was okay and that we could reschedule her. While I sat there listening to her, I felt the presence of the Holy Spirit. When she left out of the office, I followed her. I walked behind her to ensure that she was okay. When she noticed me, I looked at her and asked her would it be okay if I prayed for her. Her embrace not only assured me that it was okay, but it was what she wanted. We found a quiet place and I began to pray for her. She was so thankful that I took the time and that I noticed her. I told her it was the Lord’s doing and that I would continue to check on her. Weeks have gone by and every time she sees me, she smiles and hugs me. Now she knows that she has someone in her corner that is praying for her and standing and agreeing with her that she is healed. For the Bible says “Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven” (Matt 18:19).We serve an amazing God. When you avail yourself to the Holy Spirit, He will speak to your heart and lead you. Allow your prayer life to be a witness of the Lord’s goodness. You never know what people are going through, but when you quiet your soul and tune in, the Lord will show you ways of how you can be a blessing to someone else.
What is your witness? The Bible says “For thou shalt be his witness unto all men of what thou hast seen and heard” Acts 22:15. What has God done for you? God comes to give us abundant life. Go and tell someone what God has done for you. Tell others how he has healed you or how he restored your finances. Whatever it is that God has done for you, be a witness to others. The enemy would rather you keep quiet and silence you because he knows that once you start spreading God’s word and speaking of His goodness, He will be put to shame.
When you quiet your soul and go inward, you will hear the voice of the Lord, you will feel His presence. He will direct you and order your steps. He will show you what to do and what to say. You will know that it’s Him because His voice sounds like His word. Just trust Him. The more you seek Him, the more you will find Him and you will know how to be a witness to others. Be Blessed!
