Have you ever ignored a text message or a phone call? Or saw a busy co-worker coming your way and you changed your route to avoid running into drama and gossip? Have you turned off the television or stayed off social media in order to have a quiet night? Sometimes I find it necessary to take these actions because I refuse to allow anything or anyone disturb my peace.
Protecting your mind and remaining in a place of peace is so important. The Bible says in John 10:10, “The thief cometh not but for to steal and to kill and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” Do not allow the enemy to come and steal your peace of mind. God’s word assures us that if we keep our minds stayed on the Lord, He will keep us in perfect peace.
Our minds are filled with many thoughts throughout our day. So I ask you….what are you thinking about? What consumes your mind as you go through your day? Is it another person, co-worker, work, etc.? Do you find yourself being present in meetings or are you consumed by your thoughts? Are your thoughts productive or are they trying to replay dead situations? Do your thoughts have life or are they dead? Our thoughts are powerful. So much so that the Bible says as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he, Proverbs 23:7.
I want to challenge you to protect your mind at all costs. Fill your mind with the word of God so that when the enemy comes in, you can speak a word that causes him to flee immediately. Watch your thought pattern and what you find yourself thinking about especially in those times when it’s quiet. One of my favorite scriptures found in Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not evil, to give you an expected end.” I rest in the fact that the Lord has thoughts of Peace towards us. He doesn’t want us to stay in a chaotic and confused state of mind because that is not of Him. Let’s embrace what the Lord says about us and carry out thoughts of Peace. Be blessed.
